Bonnie Mae (Kirkwood) Nystedt passed peacefully on June 8th at the Mountain View Nursing Home, with family at her side.  She was born July 12, 1941 in Wolfeboro, NH the daughter of the late Lawrence and Mary (Lord) Kirkwood and had lived in Ossipee Valley and West Ossipee all her life. 

Bonnie was a graduate of Kennett High School in Conway, NH.  She had worked at the Duncan Lake Coffee Shop, Ossipee, NH, Twin Maples Restaurant, West Ossipee; she had helped with the Congregate Meals in Tamworth, NH and more recently with the Day Care at the Ossipee Concerned Citizens in Center Ossipee, NH.  Bonnie was a member of the First Congregational Church in Center Ossipee, NH where she taught Sunday school.

Bonnie’s passion was children and she thoroughly enjoyed spending time with them. She enjoyed the outdoors and was a former member of the Indian Mound Golf Club in Center Ossipee, NH and also enjoyed playing tennis, working with crafts and woodworking.

Bonnie is survived by her former husband and friend, Walter Nystedt of West Ossipee, son Michael Nystedt and his wife DeAnn, Leigh Acres, FL; Jill Fletcher and her husband Jef, Wolfeboro, NH and Barbara Nystedt-Savage and her husband Michael, Effingham, NH, grandchildren Derek, Jared, and Alex Fletcher and Molly and Katherine Nystedt along with 1 great granddaughter Kayleigh Fletcher who shared the same birthday as Bonnie.  She also leaves behind her siblings, Laurinda Barr, Londonderry, Deborah Harkins, Ossipee, NH; Victoria Kirkwood, Effingham, NH; George Kirkwood and his wife June, Eliot, ME; Dane Kirkwood, Rochester, NH and Cynthia Mamigonian, Dover, NH, and many nieces and nephews, all of whom loved her dearly.

Calling hours will be 6:00 to 8:00 on Friday, June 17 at Lord Funeral Home, 50 Moultonville Road, Center Ossipee, NH.  Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 18 at 10:00 am at the First Congregational Church, Ctr. Ossipee, NH.  Burial will be in the Chocorua Cemetery, Chocorua, NH.

The family would like to thank the staff at Mountain View Community for their professionalism and loving care they gave to Bonnie during her time with them.
