Donna Mae (Darling) Stuart, VanTassel passed away peacefully at Mountain View Nursing Home, Ossipee, NH, on Wednesday, March 1, 2017.

Donna was born in Harpersfield N.Y. on June 14th 1940, the fourth of five children. She was the Daughter of Harry Elisha Darling and Helen Stinson (Pierpont) Darling. A Graduate of Richfield Springs High School, N.Y., Class of 1958. Donna went on to be employed by Transitron/Raytheon Industries of Wilmington Mass from 1958 to 1961. Carroll County Nursing Home which is now known as Mountain View Community, Ossipee N.H. as a CNA from 1977 to 1983 and finally with Medi-Corp Home Health as a CNA while residing in Fredericksburg V.A. from 1997 to 2002.

Donna spent her summers while growing up at her Great Aunt and Uncles (George and Dorothy Williams) home on Mountain Rd in Effingham NH. She moved there permanently with her four children in 1973. Donna was a strong willed woman whose determination and perseverance in raising her four children as a single parent, provided for some invaluable lessons in that journey we refer to as life. She enjoyed being involved with her children’s and stepchildren’s lives, her three Lhasa Apso’s were her world and she was a fervent NASCAR fan.

We would also like to say with deep and sincere gratitude to the many staff members at Mountain View Nursing Home, a heartfelt thank you for all your time and compassion towards Donna for the many years she resided there.  

She was predeceased by her parents Harry E Darling and Helen S (Pierpont) Darling, Brothers Harry Darling, George Darling and Sister Loraine Kennedy. She is survived by her longtime partner Eric Rennie of Wales UK, Sister Sharon Loring of Fredericksburg VA., Son Bruce D Stuart and Catherine Clay of Ossipee NH, Justine and Mark Von Rosenvinge of Ossipee, Helen Stuart of Franklin Creek MS, Marcia Fitzpatrick of Gauthier MS and Stepson David Van Tassel of Ossipee NH along with many Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren.

Calling hours will be held at Lords Funeral Home, Wolfeboro, NH on Friday, March 10, 2017 from 6:00 to 8:00PM.   A Memorial Service will be held that evening beginning at 7:30PM at the funeral  home.

A Graveside Service to be held at Laurel Hill Cemetery in Reading Massachusetts at a later date.
