Ellen Lura Hume Dever, 69, of Wolfeboro, passed away Tuesday, October 10, 2017 after a long courageous battle with cancer.

Ellen was born in Jersey City, NJ the youngest of three children of Bob and Ethel Hume.

Ellen was a caring, compassionate person who put the wants and needs of her family and others before her own.  She took great pride in her family especially her four grandchildren.

She loved nature, was an accomplished tole painter, had a wonderful singing voice and could solve any Sudoku.  She took great pride in her Scottish Heritage.

Ellie leaves behind her beloved husband of 45 years, Charles M. Dever, Wolfeboro and her two children Charles Dever and his wife Ami, and her daughter Colleen Dever Minogue and her husband Matt.  She also leaves her stalwart older brother, Bob Hume and his wife Lucy, her grandchildren Maia, Sophia, Charles J. Dever and Charles Dennis Minogue; many aunts, nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was predeceased by a sister Susan Bradley.

There were no calling hours.  Memorial services were held Friday, October 13, 2017 at Lord Funeral Home, Wolfeboro, NH.  Interment was held in the Hersey Cemetery, Wolfeboro, NH.

Donations in her memory may be made to the American Cancer Society.
