Fred Isaacson died Monday, May 1, 2017 at his home with his family at his side. He was born February 6, 1936 in Berlin, New Hampshire, the son of the late Sophie and Charles Isaacson.

He graduated from Berlin High School in 1957 with a football scholarship to the University of New Hampshire. He chose instead to join the U.S. Marine Corps and was stationed in Puerto Rico and then on the USS Ticonderoga aircraft carrier in the Mediterranean. Upon discharge, he studied business administration at the University of Miami in Miami, Florida. He returned to Berlin, New Hampshire becoming co-owner of Charles Isaacson & Sons, Isaacson Container, and FERCO. Later he became a partner in several Lincoln, New Hampshire businesses.

He was an avid golfer and a member of Androscoggin Valley Golf Club for 25 years and Kingswood Golf Club for 35 years.

He is survived by his wife of 49 years Vivian Isaacson, daughter Dara St. Sauveur and husband Richard of Wolfeboro, New Hampshire, daughter Shana Horowitz and husband Michael of Marshfield, Vermont, sister Miriam Conviser of Brookline, Massachusetts, sister-in-law Zita Gillis of Wolfeboro, New Hampshire, sister-in-law Dorothy Isaacson of Berlin, New Hampshire, and grandchildren Avery St. Sauveur, Jack St. Sauveur, Isaac Alcide, step-grandchildren Emma Horowitz and Cal Horowitz, and many nieces and nephews.

A graveside ceremony with military honors was held on May 2nd, 2017.

A scholarship for junior golfers to attend summer golf camp at Kingswood Golf Club is being established in his memory. Donations may be made to the Fred Isaacson Junior Golf Scholarship Fund, PO Box 22, Wolfeboro Falls, NH 03896.
