Two months shy of his 95th birthday, George Lenox died peacefully in his sleep on Saturday, March 25, 2017.  George is survived by his loving wife, Priscilla Priestley Lenox, and his children, Jennifer Lenox Craig, G. Stewart Lenox, Jr., and David A. Lenox, as well as his sister Ruthanne Stanieich, and his three grandchildren, Michael, Andrew and Jessica Craig.  He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Marie Doleva and his brother, James Lenox.

George was born in Medford, MA in 1922 to James Stewart Lenox, Captain of the Medford Police Force, and Ruth MacLean Lenox.  He graduated from Medford High School in the Class of 1940 and served in the United States Air Force in the Pacific Theater of Operations during World War II.  He graduated from Boston University in 1947 with a BA in Journalism.

George’s career was in advertising.  He worked for 12 years for the General Electric Company in Bridgeport, CT as an advertising manager, then worked on Madison Avenue in New York City as a Senior Account Executive for McCann Erickson for 4 years.  He spent the rest of his career working for the Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company in Akron, Ohio, retiring in 1987 as Vice President of Advertising, Worldwide.

Upon retirement, he and Priscilla moved back east to Wolfeboro, NH, enjoying the beauty and serenity of lakeside living.  George’s greatest pleasures were spending time with his family, boating on the lake and puttering around his house and yard.
