George J. Moran, born June 30, 1946 passed away suddenly Wednesday, May 17, 2017 in Wolfeboro NH.  He will forever be in the hearts of those who loved him - his wife of 47 years, Lynne Moran, his three children, Dayna (wife of Scott Merrow) of Burr Ridge, IL; Eric Moran (husband of Carissa) of Ossipee, NH; and Stacey Smith of Wakefield.  George loved spending time with his seven grandchildren, five step-grandchildren and two great granddaughters.  His sister, Nancy (wife of Bud) DeRenne of Arizona and sister-in-law Sheila Moran of California. George's dearest friends, Mark and Sheila Holland of Wolfeboro, NH and their extended family will also cherish having known George for so many years.  George is predeceased by his parents, Charles R. and M. Agnes Moran of Winchester, MA, and his brother Charles Moran Jr. of California.

George graduated from Winchester High School where he was a member of the Immaculate Conception Drum & Bugle Corps.  He served in the U.S. Navy as a Boatswain Mate in the Vietnam Conflict, then joined the Winchester Fire Department in May of 1971, where he become a Lieutenant, also serving on the first responder team for several years.  George retired after 31 years of service.  George worked at Tractor Supply in Ossipee, NH, to keep his mind and hands busy.   

He has always been a devout Catholic, a loving husband and father.  His world revolved around his love of family and friends.  He loved to hunt and fish, he enjoyed doing home-improvement projects. He was a talented craftsman, a jack-of-all-trades, and if he wasn't working on his own home, he liked helping others, working as a handyman and keeping busy - always teaching others how to do things as he went along.  He loved to travel, loved to BBQ for a crowd and appreciated a fine meal out now and then.  George loved well and was well loved.  He will be missed by all who knew him.

There will be a Mass of Christian Burial  will be held at St. Joseph’s Church in Center Ossipee Ossipee, NH on Friday, June 30, 2017 at 11:00 a.m..  A Burial with Military Honors will be held in the Ossipee Cemetery, Rt. 171, Ossipee, NH with a Celebration of Life following, in Wolfeboro NH. 

In Lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, to support a cause that can help others - as he always did throughout his life.
