Jean (Gifford) Radetzky, 92 formerly of Brummitt Court, passed away Tuesday, January 26, 2016 at Huggins Hospital, Wolfeboro, NH. She was born May 3, 1923 in Philadelphia, PA the daughter of the late Enoch and Evangeline Gifford. While growing up in Philadelphia she attended Pierce Business College for a year before changing to Stetson College where she trained as a Lab Technician and later worked at the hospital for several years. Jean also worked for Sharp & Dome Research Laboratories in Glenolden, PA until 1943. From 1949 to 1982 Jean worked for Dr. Walter F. Merscher in Roslyn, PA.
In 1982 she moved to Wolfeboro, New Hampshire where she owned and operated Monique’s Antiques. Jean also worked for Green Mountain Furniture managing the antiques shop until 1986. She will be well remembered working at Melanson’s Many Facets a jewelry store in Wolfeboro
Jean was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution.
She was predeceased by her long- time companion Harry Brackenridge. She is survived by her daughter Carole Pineo and her husband Bernard, Wolfeboro, NH and a grandson Jonathan Pineo and his wife Megan Connerton, Newburyport, MA, a great granddaughter Ruby Wren also of Newburyport, MA, and her sister Gertrude McElroy, Huntington Valley, PA, a nephew Gifford Michael McElroy, and his wife Mary, South Hampton, PA and many grand nieces and nephews, also her extended family Marie Brackenridge, Kris Delfino and Brian Wierzbicki.
Calling hours will be at the Lord Funeral Home, Wolfeboro, NH, Saturday February 13, 2016 from 12:00 to 2:00pm. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home at 2:00pm.
