Linda Dore Obituary

Center Ossipee, NH

Linda Dore 81, of Ctr. Ossipee NH went to be with Jesus on Tuesday, February 13, 2018 after a fierce battle with cancer.  She died at home with her family by her side.

Linda is predeceased by her husband of 53 years, George W. Dore.  Linda is survived by her brother; Harry Britton of Lebanon ME.  She leaves behind her loving children; Randy Dore of Irvington KY, Roxanne Dore of Ticonderoga NY, Roger Dore of Irvington KY, Ruth Clough of Tuftonboro NH, George Dore of W. Ossipee NH, Lynda Day of Biddeford ME.  She also leaves behind her beloved 17 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren, with several more on the way and several nieces and nephews of which she loved.

Born on September 16, 1936 to Fred and Ruth Britton of Melvin Village NH, Linda took the most pride in her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.  She also loved the spouses of all her children and also the spouses of her grandchildren; she loved them as her own and also her beautiful step grandchildren.

Linda loved ceramics, to sew dresses and make quilts for ALL the children in the family.  She loved swimming and camping.  She enjoyed Bible Study with her family and friends and spent much quiet time with the Lord in His Word.

She has the Guinness world record of pancakes made in a life time.  Her children came from miles and miles and miles to have a stack, same with her beans and biscuits.  She shoveled her own roof until she was 78 instead of waiting for someone to help her.  She would go sliding at the age of 80 with her grandchildren and laugh and laugh and laugh.  Facebook closed the distance of a thousand miles for her as she anxiously waited for any new pictures and videos of the children.

To have a newborn baby laid in her arms, a toddler to chase, or her grandchildren to cook with; these were her greatest joys.  She loved her family so completely that when they felt pain, she felt their pain deeply and when they rejoiced, she rejoiced with them.  If there was ever a need in the family, with close friends, with strangers; near or far - she would give her - all - and simply say…  “I felt like Something told me to do it.”  There was nothing in life more important to her than to be useful to her children and to be loved by them as she loved them first.

All her children humbly bow in honor and in privilege that God chose our mom as the family matriarch.  All her children, young and old, arise and call her blessed……

In lieu of flowers, Linda loved the Special Olympics having made Clynton a part of the events and personally attended for over twenty years; our local team (checks payable to) Sharon Davis, 24 Moody Pond Road, Ctr.
