Wolfeboro, NH and Bradenton, FL

Luke A. Plasencia, 21, of Bradenton, FL and formerly of Wolfeboro, NH, died in a tragic motorcycle accident on SR 70 in Manatee, Florida on Saturday, November 25, 2017.

Luke was born December 8, 1995 in Dover, NH the son of Patricia (Dunleavey) Victorin and Douglas Plasencia.  He was a lifelong resident of Wolfeboro where he attended Kingswood Regional High School and later graduated from Maplestone School in Acton, ME.

In October of 2016, he had moved to Florida to pursue training and obtained his Commercial Driver’s License.  He was working for Graber Excavating Company as a Heavy Equipment Operator where he was so proud to have his own dump truck.

Luke loved the State of New Hampshire.  He loved the outdoors, the lakes, the mountains, the woods, he also loved his cats and dogs especially, Pablo.  He enjoyed taking his annual camping trip in Pittsburg with his grandfather, brother and cousins.  He loved cars, four wheelers and motorcycles and he was working hard, saving his money, to get a Cummins. Luke also enjoyed music and sending music links of new songs that he like to his friends.

Luke was a charmer!  When he got in trouble at home, at school or on the job, he accepted his punishment and was more concerned that you still loved him, and everyone did!  He had a beautiful smile, and was sweet and sincere.  He was the annoying little brother that worked his way into the circle of his siblings’ friends.

Luke is survived by his mother Tricia (Dunleavey) Victorin and her husband Alix, Wolfeboro, NH, his father Douglas Plasencia and his wife Melissa, Lakewood Ranch, FL; his siblings Megan Decato and her children Zoey and Tytus, Wolfeboro, NH; Zachary Plasencia and his daughter Madalyn, Ossipee, NH;   Arron Lamotte and his wife Katie, FL.  He is also survived by his grandparents Michael L. Dunleavy, Concord, NH; Dale and Sue Plasencia, Statesville, NC , Susan Widen, Tampa, FL, and Agatha Victorin of Portsmouth, VA.  He also leaves behind his aunts Kathleen Buckman and Debbie Crabtree as well as many cousins and honorary family members too many to mention by name, but known to Luke as “Aunts”, “Uncles”, “cousin” and his lifelong friends were his “brothers”.

Calling hours for Luke will be Saturday, December 2, 2017 from 5-7pm at Lord Funeral Home, Wolfeboro, NH.  A Memorial service will be held Sunday, December 3, 2017 at 2:00pm at the First Congregational Church, South Main Street, Wolfeboro, NH. The family encourages you to wear a touch of red which was Luke's favorite color.

This devastating loss has left Luke’s family with shattered hearts.  Luke’s accident was not caused by reckless driving, but was borne out of the comfort on his bike and the over confidence of his youth.  Hoping to spare other families from such heartache, Luke’s parents have requested that donations in his memory be sent to the, “Luke Plasencia Memorial Fund for Safe Riders”, C/O any branch of Bank of New Hampshire.  This fund will provide scholarships for motorcycle safety courses for young men and women who, like Luke, love to ride – his family want to do everything they can to ensure that those students make it home safely.
