Michael A Wilkes, 62, of Center Street, passed away Monday, February 4, 2013 at Catholic Medical Center, Manchester, NH following a brief illness.
He was born August 17, 1950 in Wolfeboro, NH the son of the late Ernest and Esther (Glidden) Wilkes. Michael had lived in Wolfeboro for most of his life and was a 1968 graduate of Kingswood Regional High School, Wolfeboro, NH. He later attended and graduated from the University of New Hampshire with a Master’s in Business Administration.
Michael served in the US Air Force during the Vietnam Era. He had later worked for Spear Memorial Hospital, in Plymouth, NH as a Lab Technician and later worked a Laboratory Director for Lakes Region General Hospital, Laconia, NH; Memorial Hospital, North Conway, NH and most recently at Huggins Hospital, Wolfeboro, NH
Michael was an avid drummer and also a Director and Actor with the Village Players in Wolfeboro, NH for many years.
He is survived by his son, Stephen R.E. Boisvert, Lake Helen, FL and his two grandchildren, Megan and Brianna Boisvert as well as a brother Stephen Wilkes, Wolfeboro, NH and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother Richard Wilkes and his step-mother Christine Wilkes.
Calling hours will be Saturday, February 9, 2013 , from 6-8PM at lord Funeral Home, Wolfeboro, NH. A Graveside Service will be held in the Lakeview Cemetery, Wolfeboro, NH in the spring.
