Robert Francis Fournier Sr., 92, passed away Tuesday, May 30, 2017 at Golden View Nursing Home, Meredith, NH, from injuries sustained from a serious fall that happened on March 29, 2017 in Wolfeboro, NH.

Robert was born on February 9, 1925 in Fitchburg, MA the son of the late Rosanna (Cote) and Joseph Fournier of Fitchburg, MA.  Robert grew up in Fitchburg, MA, graduating early from high school to serve his country during WWII.  Her served in the US Air Force and was honorably discharged in 1945.  During his commitment in the Air Force, Robert flew a P38 airplane.

Shortly after, Robert married Marguerite Lynch from Lawrence Mass.  They were married on October 25, 1947 at St. Patrick’s Church in Lawrence, MA and were married for 59 years before she predeceased him on July 12, 2006.

Early in Robert’s career he worked as a banker for many years at the Arlington Trust in Lawrence, MA.  During 1975 Bob moved his family full time to Moultonborough, NH and became President of Kingswood Bank in Wolfeboro, NH where he retired in the mid 1990’s.

Robert was a very civic minded person and served his community most of his life.  He most recently retired from the Board of Directors at Huggins Hospital in Wolfeboro, NH.

Robert’s love of family enjoying many hours of tennis, water skiing, swimming, skating and snow skiing will be remembered by all of his children.

His is survived by his children, Janine Brown, Canaan, NH; Robert Fournier Jr., Meredith, NH; and Joseph Fournier, Wolfeboro, NH as well as his grandchildren Jennifer Dupont, Julia O’ Brien, Ryan Wilson Sr., Jonathan Fournier, Aaron Fournier and Joshua Fournier and his great grandchildren, Ryan Wilson, Jr., Tayler Wilson, Devin Wilson, Chazzy Wilson, Bailey Fournier, Kiersten Fournier, Alex Fournier and Tyler Fournier.  He was predeceased by two daughters Francine Ransdell and Colleen Charest.

Calling hours will be held Friday June 9, 2017 from 6-8PM at Lord Funeral Home, Wolfeboro, NH.  A Memorial Mass will be celebrated Saturday, June 10th, 10:00am at St. Charles Church, Rt. 25, Meredith, NH.  A Burial with Military Honors will be held in the Shannon Cemetery, Moultonborough, NH.
