Shirley M. Jones, 80, most recently of North Sandwich, slipped away peacefully with her loving daughter by her side on November 27th at the Mountain View Community.

Born on April 30th, 1937, in Laconia where she was raised amongst her 11 siblings.  She became a long time resident of Ossipee in the early 1980s and resided there until 2015.

Shirley will be remembered as a giving wife, mother, and grandmother. She had a door that was always open which included a hug and a listening ear. She had an intense love of bingo, game shows, Alan Jackson, cheesecake and pretty nail polish. She would often be found cheering on her grandchildren and great grandchildren at sporting events, plays, and concerts.  She never missed a play that starred her very talented great grandson Gabriel.  She laughed the days away at tea parties with her great granddaughter Maxine and battled her great grandson Riley at Wii bowling. Shirley spoke her mind, won hearts, and made friends where ever she went with her stubbornness, kindness, gentle touch, and wild sense of humor.

Shirley was predeceased by her devoted husband of 57 years, Kenneth Jones and their three babies, Barbara, Mary, and Bruce. As well as seven of her siblings: Dorothy, Carol, Wilfred, Albert, John, Raymond, and Linda.

She leaves behind her daughter, Brenda (and her husband Thomas Sr.) of North Sandwich. Three Siblings, Joan of Louisiana, Beverly of Hawaii, and Dennis of Germany. Her grandchildren, Thomas (and his wife Tanya) Staples Jr., of Meredith and Tara Staples, of North Sandwich. Two step grandchildren, Sonya and Scott Staples. 12 great grandchildren and one great great grand daughter.

A celebration of life will be held Saturday, December 2nd, at 1pm, at 3 Carder Lane in Meredith. A private graveside service will be planned at a later date.

The family would like to give special thanks to the entire staff of both the Mountain View Community and Central NH VNA/Hospice.

Memorial donations can be made in Shirley's honor to Central NH VNA/Hospice.
