Wolfeboro, New Hampshire- Wanda Gay Edmunds beloved mother, Gigi, sister, aunt and teacher, died on Saturday February 18, 2017 at Dartmouth Hitchcock Hospital.  Born on July 10, 1946 in Wolfeboro, New Hampshire, Gay also lived in Bridgeport, CT and Laconia, NH before settling in Wolfeboro. 

Gay graduated from Brewster Academy in Wolfeboro, NH.  She obtained her B.A. in education from Lesley College.  Gay taught kindergarten, second and third grade for 26 years at Carpenter School.  She was an active member of the First Congregational Church in Wolfeboro, NH.

Gay is survived by her daughter Keri McDonald and granddaughters Shannon and Ainsley, of Marblehead, MA, daughter Amie Edmunds and grandsons Curtis and Nathan Cloos of Wolfeboro, NH and Brett Edmunds, his wife Jennifer and grandchildren Ethan and Charlotte of Franklin, MA. 

Additional family members include sister Pamela Ackley of Cleburne, TX, brother Steve Hale, and his wife Leslie, brother Matt Hale, and sister Deborah Skelley and her husband Chip Skelley, all of Wolfeboro, NH. She was predeceased by her parents Robert G. Hale and C. Anita Hale, as well as her brother, Tad Hale of Wolfeboro.

Gay loved beautiful Wolfeboro and all of its people.  After her retirement, Gay remained an active member of the Wolfeboro School community.  She enjoyed working in her gardens and spending hours sewing beautiful quilts.  She cherished her time with her family, especially her six grandchildren which were her greatest blessing. 

Calling hours will be held at Lord Funeral Home, Rt. 28, Wolfeboro, NH on Wednesday February 22, from 4:00 to 8:00PM.  Memorial Services will be held on Thursday February 23 at 4:00 PM at the First Congregational Church of Wolfeboro, NH. Rev. Gina Finocchiaro will officiate.  A burial in Lakeview Cemetery in Wolfeboro will be held at a later date.  Flowers are acceptable although donations are preferred to the Retired Educators Scholarship for a student at Kingswood High School focusing on Education (payable to GWREA), PO Box 1016, Wolfeboro, NH 03894.
