William "Bill" Gordon Huntley

Madison, NH

William “Bill” Gordon Huntley, 80, passed away on Saturday, January 27, 2018 at his home surrounded by his family.  He was born in Jacksonville, FL on May 2, 1937.

Bill is survived by his wife of 51 years, Janice Corelli Huntley, his four children Dawn Huntley of Mendon, Massachusetts; Joanne Bourque of  Plainfield, Connecticut; Andrea Burke of Hartford, Connecticut and his son Samuel Huntley of Hampton, New Hampshire and their spouses. He also leaves behind a brother Charles Huntley of Plano, Texas.  He had seven grandchildren, Samantha Osborne, Elizabeth Kettle, William Kettle, Gabrielle Cournoyer, Aaron Bourque, Alexander Bourque and Juliette Bertrand-Huntley, (who predeceased him in October, 2016).  Three great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews, as well as many friends and extended family.

Bill was in the  US Air Force and learned how to speak fluent Russian.  He also loved to travel with his wife and enjoyed teasing and joking with people.  He had a great love of cars and when he was younger, people would say of him,  “Vroom Vroom and away he goes in a cloud of dust!”.  Bill worked for many years as a postal employee, in various Connecticut offices, working his way up from carrier to Postmaster, finishing his career in Moosup, Connecticut.  He was an avid sportsman with a love for animals and nature and an active member of the Jehovah’s Witnesses, in Madison, NH.

There will be no calling hours.  A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, February 10, 2018 at 1:00pm at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 1064 Conway Road, Madison, NH.  All are invited to attend.  A burial will be held in East Hartford, CT at a later date.
