Dr Tully, I am glad that I went to your retirement celebration, and again I want to thank you for all you did for my sons, especially the time Jason won best soloist. The trips and experiences you created will always be remembered.Jason won awards because of all the years he played Taps for veteran's events. I have photos of parades, concerts and trips which I will always treasure. Then there was the year the school board chair thought he could put an end to any mention of Christ in the Christmas concert to which you responded to the audience at the conclusion of the concert "I have one more thing to say to all of you - Merry Christmas!!!" That was a good one! And you were respected all the more for doing so! It was sad to see you with a cane at The Gateway and in a wheelchair at your retirement party, but you still had alot of spunk! Thanks again for all you did to bring music and morale to all of your students and community - God Bless and RIP

I was just talking to my sister and musician-brother-in-law about a wonderful tuba player I knew while at Western Connecticut State University. We decided to Google Hugh. Imagine my surprise and grief when I saw the obituary. We just assume that certain people from our pasts are doing well. Hugh was a wonderful person. I even knew that when I was 18.
We both named our daughters Andrea.
Please know that I am thinking of all the Tullys that Hugh left behind.
