Larry Kimball Obituary

Larry Kenneth Kimball

4/15/50 - 4/6/24

Larry Kenneth Kimball passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family on April 6, 2024. Larry was born in Franklin, NH to Malcolm and Marjorie Kimball on April 15, 1950.

Larry is survived by his wife of 55 years, Irene Stacey Kimball; his son, Mark Kimball, wife Heather, and their children Nicole and Kyle of Dillon, CO; his daughter Michelle Kimball and her children Reese, Brady and Lainey of Wolfeboro, NH. He is also survived by his brothers Leland Kimball of Bow, NH, Brent Kimball of North Hampton, NH, his sister Carlene Guimond of Bow, NH, as well as many nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his brother Stephen LaChance of New Egypt, NJ.

Larry attended Franklin High School where he was a three-sport athlete. He graduated from Southern Connecticut State University, where he played football. After returning to NH, he started a career in education working in special education, science and physical education, as well as coaching wrestling and basketball at Winnisquam. During this time, he was an assistant football coach at Tilton School. He later moved to Wolfeboro, NH where he established Kimball Insurance Agency.

Larry never hesitated to help neighbors, friends, organizations and teams with their needs. He served on a variety of community boards and gave back to his community through donating his time and energy or fundraising.

His athletic abilities and love of sport were demonstrated and shared at each stage of his life. Sports served as a vehicle for him to give and spend time connecting and building relationships. If he wasn’t participating, he was coaching or cheering from the sidelines at any game he could attend.

His greatest joys in life were his children and grandchildren. He taught and shared with them his love of sport be it baseball, basketball, golf, fishing, skiing, water skiing, jumping rope, canoeing, and even helping with unicycling. His favorite memories were created with his family and friends including trips to Disney World, Rye Beach and NCAA Final Four and many happy times on Lake Winnipesaukee and Rust Pond.
