Bruce E. Williams, 64, died unexpectedly of complications in his lung disease, Monday, February 5, 2018 at Memorial Hospital in North Conway, NH. At the time of his passing, Bruce was strengthened by his faith in God and encircled by the love and support of his family and friends both by his side and in their thoughts and prayers.

Born Bruce Edward Williams on August 19, 1953 to Richard and Margie Williams of Center Ossipee,  he shared his birthday with his great aunt Lavinia Stockbridge with whom he exchanged gifts every year until her passing in 1998.

He was a Kingswood Regional High School class of 1972 graduate. After he graduated he worked a variety of jobs throughout the Ossipee Valley including Frankson’s Furniture, Mount Whittier Ski Area and Portland Dow Mill. On August 19, 1977 he married Rose (Hamel) Willard, and spent their honeymoon in North Conway, NH. He found his niche on the Town of Ossipee Road Crew being the road crew supervisor and Union Rep for a period of time during his 38 year employment.

He volunteered in public service to his hometown as a Member of the Center Ossipee Fire Department and Ossipee Rescue Squad. While on the Fire Department he served as Lieutenant – Captain – Training officer and assistant Chief. He was awarded Fireman of the Year in 1976. And served the fire department for over 35 years.

Bruce was a member of the Moultonville United Methodist Church. He enjoyed the challenges of faith, the coffee fellowship and the community famous bean suppers.

Bruce loved hunting and fishing with his son Shawn, RV camping with family and friends, traveling throughout the US, hunting trips to PA, cruising to Alaska and other adventurous journeys to quench his desire for world knowledge.  He enjoyed a lively LONG game of Risk or Monopoly especially when he was victorious. He also enjoyed a variety of outdoor activities including but not limited to skiing, snowmobiling, scouting, baseball, and being outside in his yard.

Predeceased by a son, Shawn Willard; his mother and her husband, Margie and Ralph Vacca of Center Ossipee; his father and his wife Richard and Dorothy Williams, North Conway area.

Bruce is survived by his wife of 40 years Rose; a brother Barry Williams and his wife Patricia of Waterville Valley, NH, two sisters; Belinda Cullen and her husband Dana of Center Ossipee, NH and Beth Adjutant and her husband Chris of Townsend, Georgia.  As well as a large and loving family of Uncles, Aunts, Nieces, Nephews, great- Nieces, great Nephews and many good friends.

Friends and Family can gather for visiting hours on Friday February 16th from 5 – 7pm at Lord Funeral Home, 50 Moultonville Rd. Center Ossipee. A celebration of Bruce’s life will be held at The Moultonville United Methodist Church at 96 Moultonville Rd Center Ossipee, Saturday, February 17th at 11am. A reception will follow the service at the Ossipee Town Hall, 55 Main Street, Center Ossipee, NH

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made in Bruce’s memory to the Moultonville United Methodist Church,  PO Box 1008, Center Ossipee, NH  03814.
