Colleen Dorothy Hines

Colleen Dorothy Hines of Newmarket, New Hampshire, passed away peacefully in her sleep on June 3. 2017 at the age of 55. Lovingly known as “Col” by family and friends, she was born at Melrose Wakefield Hospital in Melrose, MA, attended and graduated Sanborn Regional High School in Kingston, NH and proceeded to attend Stratham Vocational College where she became a CNA/LNA.  She adored spending her 20’s working at the Rockingham County Nursing Home in Brentwood, NH and caring for patients in Hospice Care.

Colleen, also known to her nieces and nephews as “Auntie Col” and “The Fun Aunt,” loved to share her love of music and theater. She was always playing the piano, singing every song on the radio and had the time of her life during her acting days with the Kingston Community Theater, even getting her niece and sisters involved. She loved Holidays and her family always could count on her to be decked out for the occasion whether it be Shamrock earrings for St. Patrick’s Day, dressed in costume for Halloween or Snowmen sweaters for Christmas. In addition to her musical talents, Colleen was happiest painting anything she could get her hands on and photographing all the beauty nature had to offer.

Colleen was predeceased by her father Edward T. Hines Jr. and sister Kathleen Robinson and is survived by her loving mother Peg Crawford and Step Father Hugh Crawford of Wolfeboro Falls, Sister Maureen Olsen and her husband Bob Olsen of Maine, brothers Edward T. Hines III and his wife Amy Hines of Wolfeboro, NH, Timothy Patrick Hines and his wife Karen Huntress of Havana, Cuba and nieces and nephews that she adored including Megan Blanchard, Anna Robinson, Brittany Olsen, Edward T. Hines IV, Conner Olsen, Morgan Hines, Maeve Huntress Hines and Stella Huntress Hines.

A private service will be held later in the summer. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to Seacoast Mental Health 30 Prospect Avenue Exeter, NH 03833 or Clear lakes Chorale at P. O. Box 223 Wolfeboro, NH 03894.
