Daniel Edward Tufts

Daniel Edward Tufts, 58 of Fairfax, VA passed away unexpectedly on December 28, 2018 at his home.

Born on January 18th, 1960 in Brockton, MA, he was the son of Dorothy (Riley) Tufts and the late Lawrence W. Tufts

A graduate of Bridgewater-Raynham High School in Massachusetts, he worked for Republic Services as an Account Manager in Fairfax, Virginia for the past 12 years.

Dan was a fun-loving person who enjoyed the company of friends and family.  He will be remembered for his upbeat personality and caring demeanor.  Ten years ago, Dan faced a personal tragedy when he became paralyzed.  Despite being confined to a wheelchair, he refused to allow his condition to affect his lifestyle.  He was guided by a strong Christian faith and lived his life generously.  Over the years he has acted as a mentor to several young people, including serving as Big Brother to Evan for many years.  Dan was also an avid sports fan and loved Tom Brady and the New England Patriots.  An unmitigated “people person”, Dan also loved his four-legged friends.  While he grew up in the company of German Shepherds, he developed a special fondness later in life for Boston Terriers and was dad to both Bruschi and Sadie.       

Dan is survived by his mother, Dorothy Tufts of Ossipee, NH; brothers, Kevin Tufts of Fairfax, VA and Mark Tufts and his wife Charlene of North Attleboro, MA.  He also leaves behind his beloved nieces and nephews, Andrea (Tufts) Eaton, Myles Tufts, Ian Tufts, Brittany Tufts, Steven Tufts, Alex Tufts, and Luke Tufts, as well as his close friend, Patti Rosa.

Dan is preceded in death by his father, Lawrence Tufts, and his brother, Lawrence Tufts Jr.

Services will be held Saturday, January 12th, 2019 at 11:00am at All Saints Episcopal Church, Wolfeboro NH
