Dennis W. Johnson, 78, of turkey Street, passed away suddenly on Sunday, October 27, 2019 at his home.  He was born October 3, 1942 in North Conway, NH the son of the late Forrest and Effie (Bean) Johnson.

Dennis had lived most of his life in Tamworth.  He served in the US Army during the Vietnam War.  He had worked for the State of New Hampshire Department of Transportation for 26 years, retiring as Assistant Foreman in District 3, Shed 302, Chocorua, NH.  After retirement he worked as a caretaker and handyman for several years.

He was an avid cribbage player traveling to several places in New Hampshire and Maine for cribbage tournaments.

Dennis was predeceased by his wife Marie (Hobbs) Johnson and is survived by his children Darrell Johnson and his wife Becky, Effingham, NH; Dale Johnson, Bridgeton, ME; Dana Johnson and his wife Rachel, Tamworth, NH, five grandchildren and two great grandchildren.  He also leaves behind his siblings, Margaret Flint, Conway, NH; Arthur Johnson of CA; Karen Pandora, Brownfield, ME; Harry Johnson, Conway, NH and Forrest Johnson, Tamworth, NH, nieces and nephews.

Calling hours will be Friday, November 1, 2019 at Lord Funeral Home, 50 Moultonville Road, Ctr. Ossipee, NH, from 6-8pm.  A Graveside Service will be held Saturday, 2:00pm in the Chocorua Cemetery, Chocorua, NH.
