Donald A. Anderson

July 25, 1951 ~ November 4, 2017 (age 66) 66 Years Old

    Donald A. Anderson, 66, of Freedom, NH, died peacefully, surrounded by family on Saturday, November 4, 2017.    Don will always be remembered for his smile, kindness, dedication to his family, and sense of humor.  Born in Brockton, MA, he was the son of Alden G. Anderson and the late Astrid M. (Pearson) Anderson. He graduated from Brockton High School in 1969 and then became the manager at Producer’s Dairy Restaurant where he met his wife Laurel R. (Whittaker) Anderson. They were married on June 2, 1973 and spent 23 years as residents of Brockton, MA. In 1996, they moved into their dream home in Freedom, NH where they planned to retire together. Don spent most of his career working as a machinist. Most recently, he worked at MacLean Precision Machine Company in Madison, NH. He was an active member of First Evangelical Lutheran Church, Brockton, MA,  where he played on the youth basketball team and when older served on the church council. When he moved to New Hampshire, he became a member of the Lutheran Church of the Nativity. He loved hiking and snowshoeing on the trails in the White Mountains, Camp Calumet,  beautiful Lake Ossipee and spending time with family. In addition to his father and wife, he is survived by two daughters, Julie Anderson of Nottingham, NH, and Holly Anderson Fougere and her husband Jason Fougere of Conway, NH; one grandchild, Calvin Fougere of Conway, NH; a brother, Steven Anderson and his wife Kathy Anderson of Bridgewater, MA and three nephews. Visiting hours will be held at Lord’s Funeral Home, 50 Moultonville Rd., Ossipee, NH from 6-8 on November 11, 2017. A Funeral service will be held on November 12 at Lutheran Church of the Nativity, 15 Grove Street, North Conway, NH at noon. Interment will follow in Conway Village Cemetery, Conway, NH followed by a Celebration of Life at Camp Calumet Lutheran in Freedom, NH. In Lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Don’s memory to Lutheran Church of the Nativity, 15 Grove Street, North Conway, New Hampshire or First Evangelical Lutheran Church, 900 Main street, Brockton Massachusetts or Camp Calumet Lutheran, PO Box 236, W. Ossipee, NH 03890.
