Elbridge G. Rines

Epsom, NH

Elbridge G. Rines, 87, passed away Friday, April 20, 2018 at his home in Epsom, NH. He was born September 2, 1930 in Center Ossipee, NH the son of the late Harlan J. and Ruth (Snow) Rines.

He grew up in the Wolfeboro, NH area, and after graduating from Brewster Academy in 1948, he attended Bowdoin College in Brunswick, ME where he earned a BA in Physics in 1953. Later that year while working for Westinghouse in Pittsburg, PA, he was drafted into the Army at the end of the Korean War. After serving two years, he returned to NH where he worked for General Electric in Somersworth, NH for 31 years. He lived in Rochester, NH from 1956 to 2015 where he spent his retirement years restoring and enjoying Walnut Grove Farm.

He was married to Marjorie J. (Ormsby) Rines for nearly 65 years, and is survived by her and their five children, Glen Rines and his wife Pinky of Hollis, NH, Marcia (Rines) Kothman and her husband Robert of Campbellsville, KY, Joan (Rines) Hargreaves and her husband Andy of King George, VA, Dana Rines and his wife Lorraine of Rochester, NH and David Rines and his wife Bridget of Hollis, NH, and by 11 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

He was an active member of True Memorial Baptist Church in Rochester, NH for 60 years where he served as a Deacon, Trustee and Sunday School teacher.

A memorial service will be held there on April 30, 2018 at 11am at the True Memorial Baptist Church, Rochester, NH to honor his life.
