Ethan B. Billings, 26, of Huckins Street, passed away Saturday, August 12, 2017 at his home.

He was born April 29, 1990, in Laconia, NH, the son of Debra (Plummer) and Condict M. Billings of Center Ossipee, NH

Ethan’s life started out as a premature baby and had spent much of his early days Lakes Region General Hospital, Laconia, NH.  He was raised in Center Ossipee and home schooled by his mother until her passing in 1998.  Ethan would follow his mother around while his mother attended to her daily duties all the time teaching him about life.  Ethan later entered Ossipee Central School and the day of his step up from 6th grade, on June 20, 2003 was the day he became a “Hero”.

Early that morning, while their home caught on fire, Ethan didn’t hesitate to crawl into the flames and smoke to rescue his youngest sister from the burning home.  For his heroic action Ethan the Manchester Union Leader newspaper awarded him as “Hero of the Year” in 2003, an award he was extremely proud of.

Ethan later attended Kingswood Regional High School, Wolfeboro and graduated with the Class of 2009.  While at Kingswood he found his passion in the automotive classes.  He was proud of his record places in the State Diesel Competition in Berlin, NH.  Following his graduation he held various jobs in the area.  Ethan became a good carpenter which he enjoyed.  The joy he found working on cars and engines never left him.  He was always tinkering helping his friends with their cars.  He loved to take something and make it run right.  Shortly before his death he started working in the seamless metal roofing field and became very passionate about it to the point he was thinking about starting his own metal roofing company.

In his early years he loved to ski and joined the school ski program.  Ethan loved the out-doors, he was an avid fisherman spending some of his best days on the Atlantic Ocean fishing with his brother Jeff.  He also spent much time in the woods hunting deer and bear.  Ethan also love to spend time with Shawn McMannus collecting sap and making maple syrup in the springtime.

Ethan will be dearly missed by his family and friends.

He is survived by his father Condict “Connie” Billings, Ctr. Ossipee, NH, his sisters Kathlynn Billings, Madison, NH; Clarissa Billings, Lyndonville, VT; Savannah Billings, Ctr. Ossipee, NH; Jamie Eldridge, Ctr. Ossipee, NH; Toby Coats, Ctr. Ossipee, NH and his brothers Sheldon Billings, Ctr. Ossipee, NH and Jeffrey Billings, Tuftonboro, NH.  He was predeceased by his mother Debra Billings and his brothers Chet and Adam Jones as well as his uncle Clarke Billings.
