John P. “Jack” Bolton Jr, long time resident of Tuftonboro, NH, passed away Sunday April 26, 2020 after a period of declining health attributed to late onset Alzheimer’s and ultimately Covid-19.  He was 83.

Jack was born on February 27th , 1937 in Manchester, N.H; the son of John Sr of Hooksett, NH and Leonie Michaud of Riviere’-du-loop, Quebec, Canada. He grew up on Manchester’s West Side and graduated from Bishop Bradley High School, Class of 55’ and earned a Bachelor’s degree from St. Anselm College in 59’.  He was a devoted husband, father, and friend known for his calm and quiet nature. He served his country as a Reservist in the US Army Reserves.  He enjoyed traveling, camping, and watching football.  He was the only driver’s education teacher not fired by his mother who learned how to drive after the passing of her husband.  

Jack started his career as a night auditor for the Dunfey Hotel Corporation at the Wayfarer and worked for many years as a bookkeeper at various automobile retailers in the Lakes Region.  He also prepared taxes and served as Auditor for the Town of Tuftonboro.  He retired from Mountain View Nursing Home after having completed over a decade of service in the dietary department.

Jack was predeceased by his wife of 38 years, Corinne A. (Carreiro) Bolton; his parents John Sr. and Leonie; sister Margaret “Margie” McGettigan; brother Edward “Eddie” Bolton; infant sister Virginia.

He is survived by daughter Colleen Bolton, Belmont, Mass.; son John Bolton III of Tuftonboro, NH;

brother in law Ken McGettigan of Milford, NH; sister in law Diane Bolton of Manchester, numerous cousins including Nicholas Bolton, Hudson, NH; and Tom (Dee) Bolton of Nashua, NH; Carreiro in laws, nieces, nephews, grandnieces,  grandnephews and friends from Manchester and Tuftonboro. He was a proud brother of the Knights of Columbus, Council 92, Manchester, NH for nearly 60 years.

Burial will be at Townhouse cemetery, Tuftonboro.  Funeral mass will be at a later date..  Memorial donations may be made to the NH -VT chapter of the Red Cross for the purchase of a new blood mobile https://charity.gofundme.com/o/en/campaign/miles-for-life-new-hampshire 

or to the Tuftonboro Free Library (PO Box 73 Ctr. Tuftonboro NH 03816).
