Joyce Eyer Plumer was born in Barnesboro, PA on April 19, 1925, to Harry Plumer and Ruth Ranck Plumer. Joyce passed away on May 5, 2019.
Her mother died at a young age and with her father, they moved to Maine where he started a mink farm. Joyce worked for the airlines for many years and retired from Eastern Airlines and moved from Miami, FL. Then moved to Wolfeboro, NH where she bought a home.
Joyce never had a driver’s license but was able to travel to many states and countries. She often walked miles to reach her destinations and made many friends along the way. She loved to tell stories of the places she’d been and the people she had met.
Joyce was an only child and had never been married. She was an adventurer and an independent lady long before it was fashionable. Joyce loved all information of the Royal family in England and was said to have been a distant relative. She spent many days discovering her genealogy and sharing it with family. This was before the age of the internet, and had to be done with old fashioned phone calls and letters.
There will be no public services held for Joyce. She will be buried along side of her parents in Dexter Maine, at Mount Pleasant Cemetery.
If you would like to make a donation in her memory she was very fond of the Lakes Region Humane Society, PO Box 655 Ossipee, NH 03864.
