Marilyn M. Haney, 83, of Birch Hill Estates Road, died Saturday, Jan. 19, 2019 at CMC, Manchester, NH after suffering sudden cardiac arrest at home.
Marilyn was born May 4, 1935, in Greenfield, MA to Philip H. and Marion (Merrow) Kelley, and was one of five children. At a young age, she moved with the family to Center Ossipee where she grew up and attended schools there and at Brewster Academy in Wolfeboro. She would later earn an Associates Degree in Creative Writing at the University of Maine.
In 1961, she married her best friend and soulmate, Glenn A. Haney and they had just celebrated their 57th wedding anniversary in September, 2018.
Although Glenn’s work as an Air Traffic Controller would take them to other places to live, their “roots” were in the mountains and lakes of New Hampshire. She had a love for antiques, and after retirement, she opened the Kelley Wingate Shop in downtown Center Ossipee, where she sold unique vintage clothing, antique jewelry and other antique pieces of interest.
Marilyn is survived by her husband Glenn A. Haney, her sisters Priscilla Montgomery, Gilford and Gail Montgomery, Wolfeboro; her sisters-in-law Virginia Moody and Becky Haney both of Wolfeboro, cousins, and many nieces and nephews that loved her very much and that she loved in return as her own children.
Marilyn was predeceased by her parents and her siblings Ralph Merrow Kelley and Janice Kelley Johnson.
There will be no calling hours or services.
