Michael Lafleur Obituary

Michael Anthony Gerard Joseph Sean Lafleu

Michael was born on September 20, 1959, to a French - Canadian family in Lawrence, Massachusetts. He was born the second youngest of six children to Robert and Theresa (Guertin) Lafleur.

Michael worked most of his 59 years in the field of Security. He started as an entry level security officer, and began working his way through the ranks, Eventually advancing to be the chief of security for all of Hesser College campuses state wide.  Following that he worked for NH Hospital as a Mental Health Worker in Concord for nearly four years, commuting an hour one way.

Michael was a member of the Order of the Knights of Columbus, where he founded a new chapter for the organization in York, Maine.  This religious order worked under the Catholic Church and he did volunteer work and raised money for charity.  He was a lifelong fan of the New England Patriots, and had been cheering them on for 50 years.

Michael later went back to school and obtained his associate's degree in Criminal Justice with a minor in Psychology. To do this, he would work mornings in order to help pay for his education.  Then he would be commuting an hour to take classes at night.  He also had three small children to look after at the time and lovingly provided for them to ensure their needs were met.

The tremendous amount of responsibilities he had and managed are a testament to his love for his family and determination to give them the best life possible. The selflessness shown in his life cannot be met, but is aspired towards and immensely respected.

Michael leaves behind his three children, Michael, Joshua, and Zachary Lafleur all of Wolfeboro, NH.  He also leaves behind his sister, Ann and her husband Ed Mowbray of Bedford, NH, as well as four brothers; Vincent, Frank, David, and Mark Lafleur whom live in Massachusetts .  He also leaves behind numerous nephews and nieces.

Calling hours will be on Thursday, January 24, 2019, 3PM to 5PM at the Lord Funeral Home, 23 Club Lane, Wolfeboro, NH.  A funeral mass will be held on Friday, January 25, 2019 at 10AM at the St. Katherine Drexel, 40 Hidden Springs Road, Alton, NH with an internment to follow at the Sacred Heart Cemetery in Andover, MA.
