Penelope Shannon Duncan passed away Monday, September 10, 2018 after a brief illness in Kissimmee, Florida. She was 74.
Penny was born February 2, 1945 in Wolfeboro, NH, the daughter of the late Charles and Evelyn Shannon. She graduated from Brewster Academy in 1962. Following high school she graduated from the Chicago School of Merchandising and worked for Shreve, Crump & Low in Boston. She then received her Cosmetology license from Margaret’s School of Cosmetology in Concord, NH to join her mother’s salon, Beauty Time in Wolfeboro, NH.
She married James Hackett Duncan in 1968. Their son Jameson was born in 1971.
In 1989 Penny purchased Beauty Time and enjoyed her clients there until her retirement in 2014. In 2015 she moved to Kissimmee, Florida to help care for her mother Evelyn, who passed away only five months ago.
She is survived by her son Jameson Duncan and his wife Tammy, Sioux Falls, SD, her grandsons, Charles Shannon Duncan and Nicholas Hackett Duncan, her brothers James Shannon, and his wife Susan, Orlando, FL, Charles Stuart Shannon and his wife Andrea, Wolfeboro, N.H., her sister Dori Desrosiers and her husband Danny, Campton, N.H and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
A Graveside service will be held at Pine Hill Cemetery, Route 109A in Wolfeboro, NH on Saturday, October 6, 2018 at 11:00 am.
