Phil was my hero and like a father to me. I remember the great times at the hunting camp in Wentworths Location with Phil, Smitty, my father, and Burr where my brother Bill and I would stay up half the night laughing at the stories. The times we had coon hunting were often hilarious when Maynard Freeman came along. Rest in peace my friend and see you later along with the rest of the gang. I know you said you saw "God and everything" when the top door panel on our barn flipped down and almost knocked you out, but now you truly are with Him and Gladys. I still am sorry I forgot to warn you when you went to get one of the hounds.

Loved talking with Phil when he used to come into the store. Had many conversations about any and everything. A true American hero, yet so very humble. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family. I salute you sir, and Rest In Peace my friend.

Phil was just a great man in my life....from helping me as a 4 year old rescue a trapped bird to fun nights coon hunting to sharing the rewards of his hunts with my young family...Phil always greeted me with that smile and entertained with an incredible dry sense of humor. I will miss him....
