Richard G. "Dickie" Henderson

Richard (Dickie) Glenn Henderson, 76, of Alton, NH and formerly of Lynn and Saugus, MA, passed away on Monday, October 14, 2019 after a lengthy illness.  He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend.

Richard was born on October 31, 1942, in Lynn, MA, the son of Audrey R. (Clark) Henderson.  He grew up in Saugus, MA and was a graduate of Saugus High School, Class of 1960 and Wentworth Institute in 1962.

Richard was employed a machinist by trade, but a “gentleman farmer” at heart.  He loved raising hosta and daylilies.

Richard married his best friend, Marcia E. (Perkins) Henderson, of 56 years, who he met as a young teenager.  They were married on July 13, 1963.

Richard’s greatest joy in life was his family.  He is survived by his wife, Marcia. His sons, Richard C and Pamela Henderson and their children, Zachary and Ethan of center Barnstead, NH; Glenn D. and Katie Henderson and their children, Charlie and Amanda of Ipswich, MA.  He leaves a brother Norman C. Henderson of Saugus, MA.  He also leaves many nieces and nephews.  In addition to his mother he was predeceased by a sister Audrey, and brothers, Donald E. Henderson Jr. and Leonard R. Henderson.

In accordance with Dickie’s wishes a burial service will take place on Thursday, October 24, 2019 at 11:00am at New Riverside Cemetery in Alton, NH.
