Bernice Ellsworth (Dowe) England

Bernice Ellsworth England (Dowe) - b. 10/6/1936, left us far too soon on Monday, April 14, 2025.  

Bernie, (BEE to special friends) had a quick wit, was an amazing cook, loved to smile and laugh and make others laugh. She loved nature and had 2 green thumbs; everything thrived around her. She was a true spark of light. To know her was to love her.

She was predeceased by her mother, Mildred Ellsworth and her father, James Dowe of Laconia, NH, her daughter Susan Carter (Parker) of Rochester, NH, her brother James Dowe of Seattle, WA and her sister Annie Smith (Dowe) of Bethesda, MD.

She is survived by her husband of 47 years, Lawrence R. England Jr. (Chuck) and her children, Matthew Parker (m. Frederique Parker), Sarah Ellsworth Douglas (m. Neil Douglas) of Auburn, ME. As well as grandchildren Christopher Carter (partner Peet Mabry) of Middletown, CT, April Carter and daughter Lyla of Gilford, NH and Tabitha Ellsworth Doughlas (m. Lillian Douglas (Overbagh) of Lowell, MA. As well as nieces, Kimberly Smith (m. Stephen Wieler) and Melanie Smith of West Chester, PA. She is also survived by her sister-in-law Virginia Snow and her daughter Lyndy Moore (m. Robert Moore) of Beaufort, SC, and Betsy Snow (m. Sileshi) of Cambridge, MA and sister-in-law Vicky England and daughter Jennifer Kahn (m. Pierre) of Redondo Beach, CA. As well as many other extended family and friends. 

We will all miss her, and all of our lives have been enriched for having known her.
