Charles W. Currier, 76

Charles W. Currier, 76, died peacefully Sunday morning, January 26, 2020 at Mountain View Nursing Home in Ossipee, NH after a long illness.  Charlie was born in Salem, MA on February 1, 1943.  He was the son of the late Herbert Wesley and Phyllis (Bartol) Currier.  He grew up in Danvers, MA and graduated from Danvers High School.  He then graduated from Lesley College Business Management and got his Master’s degree at Merrimack College in North Andover, MA.  He worked for 35 yrs at GTE Sylvania in Danvers, MA as an Information Technologist in various IT management positions.

He spent much of his time throughout his life with his family at their cottage on Lake Winnipesaukee.  He enjoyed the outdoors, hiking and going out on his boat.  He loved fly fishing and he was a great fly tyer.  He also enjoyed taking fishing trips with his son to places such as New Zealand and Brazil.  He was a member of Fly Casters of Boston.  He loved road trips across the United States to visit different National Parks, especially Yellowstone, one of his favorite places.

He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Susan (Elwell) Currier; his son Jeffrey and his wife Yvonne Currier; his son Gregory and wife Kerry and granddaughters Samantha and Montana Currier; his daughter Rebecca, husband Dr. Donald Rose and their children Sierra and Eleyas of Wolfeboro; his sister Elaine (Currier) Blake of Peabody, MA and several cousins, nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his parents, his sister Sandra and her husband Edward Pierce of Wolfeboro and brother-in-law Robert Blake and his brother-in-law William Elwell and sister-in-law Madeline Elwell.
