Charles H. Elliott Jr.

Charles H Elliott Jr., 77 of Acton, Maine, formally of Effingham, New Hampshire passed away Monday, January 12, 2026, after a long battle with cancer.

He was born June 18,1948, in Wolfeboro, New Hampshire the son of Charles H. Elliott Sr. and Edith (Bodwell) Elliott. He is survived by his three sisters, Linda Gray of Farmington, New Hampshire, Donna Sampson of Tuftonboro, New Hampshire, and Jane Runnels of Acton, Maine. Four grandchildren Shiloh, Andrew, Tiffany, and Damion and one great-grandchild. Several nieces and nephews - to include Llanna Griffin of Acton, Maine along with her significant other Ray Chapman and daughter Isabella Morrow, and Wenona Holmes of Acton, Maine who jumped in to help Charlie and provided nonstop comfort and care throughout his final days.

Charles made his living driving trucks across the country for several years before settling in Effingham, New Hampshire. He also drove locally for several companies. He also volunteered for many years with the Effingham Fire Department.

Charlie loved telling his stories to many and especially loved to tell everyone about his trucking stories.

Charlie was predeceased by his parents, his daughter Lisa, his two sisters Jean and June, and brother Frank.

A time of visitation will be held at Lord Funeral Home, 23 Club Lane, Wolfeboro, New Hampshire on Saturday January 24, 2026 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

Burial will be at the Woodland Cemetery in Effingham, New Hampshire in the spring.
