Colleen Ruth Moody, 70, of Brookfield, NH, passed away peacefully at the Rochester Manor on October 8, 2019, after a long illness.
Colleen was born in Rochester, NH, to Theodore and Ruth (Golden) Moody on March 14, 1949. Both predeceased her. She was the fourth of thirteen children. Colleen attended Nute High School in Milton, NH, graduating in 1967.
She met and married Carl Warren Bailey of Tecumseh, Michigan, in January of 1968. They settled in Milton Mills, NH, where they raised three children, Carla B. Howard, Melissa A. Masotta, and Theodore J. Bailey. She was predeceased by Carl on October 3, 1992.
Colleen worked for Downeast Energy for many years as a store manager at the Puffin Stop in Sanbornville, NH. Colleen enjoyed traveling with her partner of many years, Robert McGary. They divided their time between Sanbornville, NH, and Palm Bay, Florida. She enjoyed playing cribbage, cards, and Words with Friends. Colleen was devoted to her two dogs, Mollie and Mia, and they could often be seen riding around in a golf cart near their Palm Bay home.
Colleen is survived by seven sisters and four brothers. Her brother, Terry Moody, passed away earlier in 2019. Colleen is also survived by her three children and seven grandchildren.
Colleen’s cremation will be handled by Lord Funeral Home in Wolfeboro, NH.
The family will be holding a Celebration of Life gathering on Saturday, November 9, 2019, at the Greater Wakefield Resource Center, 254 Main St, Union, NH 03887. The event will take place from 2pm-6pm. All are welcome to come and celebrate Colleen’s life as we say good-bye to mother, sister, partner, and friend.
