David Dinwoodie

Tamworth, NH

David Dinwoodie, 99, of Tamworth, NH, passed away December 30, 2018 at his home in Tamworth, NH in the loving presence of family. Dave was born in ND on April 24, 1919 to the late James and Mary Dinwoodie. Dave was the youngest of six children.

In July, 1950 he married Mary Boes of Detroit, Michigan. They had three daughters, Kathy of Youngstown, Ohio, Peggy of Tamworth, NH and Jane of Central Point, Oregon. He had three sons-in-law, four grandchildren, and five great grandchildren.

David served his country as a Corporal in the US Army during WWII.

He  spent his working years as a blacksmith and a welder. He built a successful business in Sanish, ND. In 1983, Dave moved to Youngstown, OH where he became very active in volunteering following the death of his wife. He learned sign language, became a clown in the Coalburg Christian Clown troop, volunteered at the Paul C. Bunn school for the deaf, volunteered at St. Elizabeth Hospital delivering mail, and volunteered with hospice.

In 2007 Dave moved to Tamworth, NH with Peggy and Dan Poirier. He immediately began volunteering in his new community and continued until his death. His greatest love was the Mug Club at the Chocorua Community Church.

A Memorial  Service will be held for Dave on Saturday January 12, 2019 at 11:00am at the Chocorua Community Church in Chocorua, NH. A reception will following at The Preserve in Tamworth, NH.
