Donald W. Eldridge, 84, of West Ossipee, NH passed away Monday, October 21, 2019 at the Merriman House in North Conway.

He was a native and life-long resident of West Ossipee, NH, born December 13, 1934 the son of the late Harry P. and Vivian (Hobbs) Eldridge.

Don had served his country proudly as a MP in the US Marine Corp.  He had worked as Plant Manager at Frankson’s Furniture Company now known as Yield house for 42 years.  Following his retirement he worked as a custodian at the Tuftonboro Elementary School for many years.

Donnie loved sports, hunting and fishing and gardening.  He was a former member of the Redman in Center Ossipee.  He coached Babe Ruth Little League, played baseball on the Tamworth Town League Baseball Team, was a member of the ASA Umpire League, worked as an Emergency Technician and most importantly was a member of the West Ossipee Fire Department.  He served with the West Ossipee Fire Department for morn that 50 years serving as the Fire Chief for 20 years.  He also served as a Forrest Fire Warden for the Town of Ossipee, NH.

He was predeceased by his wife Beverly (Blake) Eldridge and is survived by his children, Virginia Emmons and her husband Theodore, Parsonsfield, ME; Darlene Therriault and her husband Bob, Vermont; Dawn Ela and her husband Henry, West Ossipee, NH and his son Bradley Eldridge of Maine.  He also leaves behind eight grandchildren and two great granddaughters many nieces and nephews; a brother Harry P. Eldridge Jr., West Ossipee, NH and his sister Barbara Budroe, Belmont, NH.

Calling hours will be held Tuesday, October 29, 2019 at Lord Funeral Home, 50 Moultonville Road, Center Ossipee, NH from 6-8PM.  A Funeral Service will be held Wednesday, 2:00PM at the Crossroads Church, Rt. 16, West Ossipee, NH.  Burial will be in the Ossipee Valley Cemetery.
