Donald H. Johnson

It is with a heavy heart we announce the passing of Donald on July 18, 2025.  Donald passed away in Manchester, NH at the Catholic Medical Center.

He was born January 12, 1951, the son of the late Donald E. and Sylvia (York) Johnson.  Donald had lived in Center Ossipee all of his life where he attended local schools and was a 1969 graduate of Kingswood Regional High School, Wolfeboro, NH.

A Life Well Lived; Donald was a very creative and intelligent man who wore many hats.  He had worked as a mechanic, with his grandfather and father at Eldridge and Johnson’s Garage in Center Ossipee, he was also a sign painter, an accomplished carpenter, antique dealer, with inspiration from his mother-in-law Dorothy Murphy, and most of all an artist.

Donald loved a challenge.  He was the “Go To Guy” to call with a hard to solve problem, “Just Ask Donald, he will fix it”.  He instilled confidence in many with his can-do attitude!

Donald was very competitive!  He loved a good horseshoe match, a game of darts, playing pool and a good hand of poker.  He had many hobbies including camping, hiking, boating, and was a great “rockhound”, he never met a rock he didn’t love!  He was also a true nature lover.  He had a lot of fun in life while still providing for his family, building their home and creating a beautiful yard.

Donald leaves behind the love of his life and soul mate, Marsh (Murphy) Johnson. His sons Kerry and Keith as well as his grandchildren, Judson, Sylvia, Vaega, Eric, Murphy and Tala.  He is also survived by his brother Kirk and his wife Gail, many nieces, nephews and in-laws.  Donald was predeceased by his sister, Rita Eldridge and a brother Eric Johnson.

A celebration of his life will be held at the Moultonville Methodist Church, Moultonville Road, Center Ossipee, NH on Saturday, August 9, 2025 at 10:30 AM.  A reception will follow at the Home of Doug and Patty VanDyke, Rt 16, Bouder Hill, Ossipee, NH.
