Doris Ann Clough

Doris Ann Clough, 85, of Wolfeboro, NH, joined her family in the arms of our Loving Savior on Friday, October 9, 2020 after a brief illness.

A native and lifelong resident of Wolfeboro, NH, Doris Ann was born on April 9, 1935 the daughter of Harold Clough and Doris Lucille (York) Clough.

Doris Ann graduated from Brewster Academy, Wolfeboro, NH and then worked in the kitchen both at Huggins Hospital and then Brewster Academy.

Later in life she proudly worked for Leslie and Patricia Rankin cleaning the Wolfeboro Laundromat for 35 years.

If you asked her what her most important job was, it was the numerous children she looked after in the community, including one special girl Mary Ann Soucy. Doris Ann took great care of her mother and pushed her all over town in her wheelchair.

Most know Doris Ann as a permanent fixture in downtown Wolfeboro walking, smiling, dancing and sometimes “disciplining” folks only the way Doris Ann could. Most recently the whole town came out to celebrate her 85th Birthday with hundreds of cars passing by her house showering her with cards and gifts as she sat at the end of her driveway next to her friends from the Wolfeboro Police Department. Doris Ann talked about that day for weeks after, she truly appreciated all who came out to make her day special.

Doris Ann is survived by her brother Harold Clough and his wife Anna of Tuftonboro, NH and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her father, Harold, mother Doris L, brother Russell Clough and his wife Mazy, her sister Beverly Bean, her sister Evelyn Polishanon and her husband Steve and her beloved nephew Kenneth Bean.

A graveside Service will be held Friday, October 30, 2020 at 11:00am in the Family plot at Lakeview cemetery, Wolfeboro, NH.
