Doris Lillian (Brown) Remick

Doris Lillian (Brown) Remick, 87 of Tamworth, passed away on Saturday, October 14, 2023 at her home.

She was born on November 26, 1935 in Laconia, the daughter of the late Charles W. and Doris L. Brown.  She lived in South Tamworth and attended the Bemis School, grades 1 – 5 and grades 6 – 8 in Tamworth Village.  She graduated from Kennett High School in 1953.  During high school she worked as an usher at the Barnstormers Theatre and a switchboard operator for the Telephone Company in Tamworth.

After graduation she moved to Miami, FL in August 1953 where she worked for the West India Shipping Company. She married Ronald C. Remick on July 8, 1956 and they moved back to Tamworth in May 1959.

Doris worked for several years at Public Service in Ossipee and then the Tamworth Oil Company, before becoming the bookkeeper for Ron’s Bailey’s Auto Supply business in Conway.  She started selling Avon and continued selling it for over 30 years, she excelled at this job and loved meeting with people, who quickly became her friends.

She was a member of the Tamworth Scholarship Committee, the Tamworth History Center and a member of the Class of 1953 Reunion Committee.  She was an avid fan of square dancing and enjoyed spending winters in Englewood, FL.

Her greatest pleasure in life was being a mother and grandmother.  She also took great pleasure in being with her many nieces and nephews.

She is survived by her husband of 67 years, Ronald C. Remick Sr., Tamworth, NH, a son Ron Remick Jr. and his wife Lisa of Tamworth, NH, her son Randy Remick and his wife Kristen of Gilford, NH, as well as six grandchildren, Ali, Zach, Demi, Jake, SiSi and Chris, and a brother Charles Brown of Northwood, NH.

Visitation will be held at Lord Funeral Home, 50 Moultonville Road, Center Ossipee, NH on Wednesday, October 25 from 5:00 - 7:00 pm.  A service will be held at Tamworth Congregational Church, 28 Cleveland Hill Road, Tamworth, NH on Thursday, October 26 at  1:00 pm.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Tamworth History Center PO Box 13, Tamworth, NH 03886-0013.  If you would like to express a condolences please visit www.LordFuneralHome.com
