Elizabeth Culick Bowman (Betsy), 89, of Ipswich, MA, passed away peacefully on Monday, June 16, 2025, with family by her side. Born on April 5, 1936, in Wolfeboro, NH, she was the daughter of the late Joseph Frank Culick and Mildred Clow Culick.
A career educator, Betsy earned degrees from Green Mountain College, the University of Colorado, and Wheelock College. She taught in Denver Colorado, East Kingston New Hampshire and eventually Ipswich Massachusetts, where she became a beloved Special Education teacher known for her warmth, dedication, and ability to connect with student's others struggled to reach. Betsy also received the honor of being granted a Fulbright exchange teaching position in Northern Ireland. Her kindness, sharp wit, and deep empathy left a lasting impression on all who knew her.
Betsy cultivated and cherished lifelong friendships in Ipswich and beyond, and held a special devotion to her beloved Siamese cats. Her deep affection for both people and animals was central to her life.

She is survived by her son, Joseph Bradley “Brad” Bowman, and her grandchildren, Joseph Bradley Bowman, Jr., and Sarah Elizabeth Bowman.
A Celebration of Life will be held on July 2, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. at Lord Funeral Home 23 Club Lane, Wolfeboro, NH followed by a reception at the family’s lake home. A subsequent burial will be privately held by the family.
