Ellsworth Hooper Obituary

 Tuftonboro, NH

Ellsworth Wallace Hooper of Center Tuftonboro, NH was born July 6, 1929 and passed away Sunday, May 23, 2021.

Known too many as “Hoop”, Dad, Grampa, Great Grampa, Uncle Elly, Elly, Santa and the guy in Center Tuftonboro with the lawn decorations!

“Hoop” passed away at home with his family by his side.  Hoop was born in Wolfeboro, NH.  He graduated from Brewster Academy where he met Muriel “Skip” and they were later married.

One would always know where to find Hoop in Center Tuftonboro.  He hand built a forever home in 1950 after marrying his surviving wife Muriel “Skip” (Lucas) Hooper.  With it beginning as a one room cabin, they added on as the family grew.

Daughters, Nancy Hooper Molburg and husband Johnn Molburg of Tyrone, PA; Sandra Hooper Shepard and Husband Robert Shepard of Barrington, NH; Debra Hooper Santulli and husband Nick Santulli of Tuftonboro, NH; Pamela Hooper Munroe and husband Bruce Munroe of North Conway, NH and son David Hooper and partner Carla Wright of Laconia, NH all survive their dad and are dedicated as promised to Dad to care for their Mom, Muriel Hooper of Center Tuftonboro, NH.

Surviving relatives also include a brother Ernest Hooper of Wolfeboro, NH and numerous nieces, nephews and 15 grandchildren and36 great grandchildren and extended family.

Hoop was a dedicated family man who loved for the holiday celebrations, especially Christmas.  Often the Hooper home was overflowing with the young and old, joking, laughing, singing (although not always in tune) and eating, especially eating!!

His work years were spent in carpentry, mostly self-employed and were extremely proud to have worked on many local estates to include the Castle in The Clouds.  His strong and honest work ethics was unknowingly passed on to each of his children.  In his retirement years, Hoop and Skip traveled across the country to visit friends and family.  They travelled to Germany to visit David and family while they were stationed there.  He was always up for another adventure.

We are all missing him, his sense of humor, his love for all of us and his lifelong loving dedication to our Mom.
