Gerard "Gerry" Levesque Obituary

Gerard “Gerry” Levesque, 84, of Wakefield, NH, passed away comfortably on January 27, 2025, surrounded by family.  He was born on July 23, 1940 in Nashua, NH to the late Arthur and Leopauldine Levesque (Berube). Gerry is survived by his wife of 60 years, Maria “Midge” Levesque (Mossotti); their three children, Jay Levesque and wife Tracy of Wakefield, Kristen Lee and her husband Keith of Wolfeboro, and Kathy Pacsay and her husband Steve of Wolfeboro; his sister, Lucille Lockwood of Nashua; and six grandchildren: Nicole, Hunter, Hannah, Adaya, Caleb, and Tyler. Gerry was a beloved uncle for his and Midge’s many nieces and nephews.

Gerry graduated from Nashua High School in 1959, and then went on to attend Lowell Tech where he studied electrical engineering. After his time at Lowell Tech he joined the military and worked as a cook, serving in the Army for seven years. He worked as an electrician in Nashua and held several leadership jobs, managing hundreds of people in English and his native language, French. One of his greatest accomplishments was working as an inventor. He holds two U.S. patents for work he did at Tech Consolidated and Xentex, a division of Exxon Enterprises. Gerry was a skilled electrician and operations manager, from his work as an electrical lineman as a teenager to his work on the Alaska Pipeline project in the 1970s. He spent time working in Israel establishing a footwear production plant and spoke fondly of his time in Kibbutz Dafna. Later in life he purchased and operated Forest Pump & Filter Company in Rochester, NH until his retirement in 2000, when he sold the business to his son, Jay.

Of all his accomplishments his greatest was as a husband, father, and grandfather. He was married to his wife Maria for 60 years and had three children. Despite his active professional career he made time to coach his girls’ softball teams and taught his children how to change their own oil, invest their money, and treat others with respect. He took his role as a grandfather seriously by attending every school and athletic event he could, and proudly shared his wisdom and sense of humor. He was known to tell his children to “be a leader, not a follower” and never missed an opportunity to remind his family of his deep love for them.

Gerry was an avid churchgoer and was known for his volunteer work to better the church. His skills as a woodworker and carver showed in every home he built and piece he carved. He often made trips to Quebec, where his family was from, to study under skilled wood carvers. He traveled to Labrador Canada on many hunting trips with friends. Gerry truly loved Canada and took his children and grandchildren there regularly. He and Maria traveled extensively in their retirement and remained close to their family, friends, and church community.

Gerry’s family invites you to celebrate his life during a service at the Wolfeboro Bible Church at 533 Center Street, Wolfeboro NH at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 15, 2025.
