On Sunday, February 2, 2025, heaven became even brighter when God called a most beautiful soul, Gloria May Knight of Wolfeboro home to be with Him, her husband, The Wind Beneath Her Wings, Jeff and her daughter Linda. She was 93.
Born in Boston and raised in Medford, MA, she was the daughter of George E. Knight and Alberta Baker Knight. She was a graduate of Medford High School. She worked the night shift at Transitron in Wakefield, MA for many years and then became a homemaker. She is predeceased by her Husband of 52 years until his passing in 2004, Ernest (Jeff) Jeffery. They lived in Saugus, MA. They spent many enjoyable summers with their family at their summer home in Alton Bay, NH.
Gloria was a devoted mother to Sheila A. Holland and her husband Mark F. Holland of Wolfeboro, Linda M. Fountain of Wolfeboro (predeceased), Sue Y. Corbett and her husband Joe of Wolfeboro, and Bill Jeffery and Jenn Marchant of Hooksett. Gloria was the sister of George Knight, Robert Knight, Richard Knight, Gladys Deluca, Dorothy Adamo, Evelyn Aloupis and Arlene Murphy. When her sister Arlene passed far too early, Gloria was a mother figure to her children Sandra Jordan, Donna Sharp and Robert Murphy.
Gloria was the beloved grandmother (Grammy) of Shawn Holland of Maine, Jamie Selby of Ohio, Joe J. Corbett, Chris C. Corbett and Brian Fountain of Massachusetts. She was great grandmother of 12 and great-great grandmother to one on the way. She was pet Grammy to Jazzie, Gunner and Mickey!
Gloria was all about one thing, her family. Loving them endlessly and unconditionally, encouraging them throughout every step towards a happy, fulfilling and successful life by teaching them the values which she believed made this world a better place and inspiring them to achieve whatever they set their minds to. She was a kind and loving person who was always willing to lend a helping hand. She will be sorely missed by her family and all who had the pleasure of meeting her.
May Gloria find happiness and peace in heaven with her husband, Jeff and her daughter, Linda as well as her family that have left this world before her.
Their will be a Celebration of Life in the Spring. In lieu of flowers, donations can be sent to the Life Ministries Food Pantry of Wolfeboro, PO Box 476, Wolfeboro Falls, NH 03896.
