Golden Elliott Obituary

Golden Elaine Elliott, 83, of Wolfeboro, N.H. passed very peacefully on December 5, 2024, surrounded by her loving family.  She was born January 21, 1941, to Daniel and Velma (Emack) DeButts.

During her life Golden held many endearing titles including Nana, Nana Dean, Little Nana, Golden Nana, Granny and Grammy, to name just a few.  In the days to come, I am certain we will learn more of the many charming nicknames she gained during her time with us all.  She was a homemaker and comforter at heart. She leaves us with a long legacy of love, hope, compassion and most importantly her unwavering faith and trust in the Lord.

Golden is survived by her children; Sherry Cortez and her husband Medardo Cortez Jr. of TX, Doreen Colby of Somersworth N.H, and a son Dean Beland and wife Michelle Beland of Wellington FL; two stepchildren, Vincent (Bubba) Elliott Jr. and Cynthia (Cindy) Elliott; eleven grandchildren, Stephanie, Danielle, Paul, Charity, Monica, Christorpher, Scott, Brickton, Camryn, Braydon, and Kyler; four step grandchildren, Ryan, Cody, Brianna, and Willow; twelve great grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild; a wealth of step grand and great grandchildren, nieces and nephews, along with her sisters Gloria Luttig of Fl., Delores Stone of ME. and Kim Spear of N.H. She was preceded by her husband Vincent Elwin Elliott Sr.; a son, Parker Colby Jr.; two brothers, Merlin DeButts, Kenny Wagenfeld, and her grandsons, Ponciano Cortez and Armando Cortez.

We invite you to come celebrate Golden’s life with us in service Thursday December 12th at Lord's Funeral Home located at 23 Club Road, Wolfeboro NH, 03894. The viewing will be at 11:00am with service to follow at 12:00pm.

After the loss of her grandsons, Golden became a regular supporter of St. Jude Children's Hospital.  To those who would like to donate to them in her honor, in lieu of flowers, we say "Thank You".

Golden was well known for cooking food for whomever was coming over.  There was always a meal she made for her guests or something in the fridge to heat up that she would surely be offering you.  She would invariably ask the moment a person walked through her door, “Are you hungry dear?” And after eating the bountiful meal she had made for you, she would ask, “You sure you’ve had enough dear?” And before you could even say yes or no, she would encourage you to eat some more and inform you, “There’s plenty more where that came from.”  In honor of her nurturing spirit, a light lunch will be offered to those who would like to attend immediately after the service at the Wolfeboro Masonic Temple, 35 Trotting Track Road, Wolfeboro NH, 03894.
