Gwendolyn "Gwen" (Mercer) Guild

Gwendolyn “Gwen” Mercer Guild was a caring mother, grandmother and friend. She passed away on
December 18, 2022 at Memorial Hospital in North Conway, NH.

Gwen was born in Cranston, RI the daughter of John and Elizabeth (Poole) Croasdale on December 13,1932.

After Gwen graduated from East Providence High School she served in the Women’s Army Corp
from 1951 – 1953, where she was the only woman to be accepted at the South Eastern Signal School at Camp Gordon. She was then stationed at Fort Sam Houston and then transferred to the 4005th Division at Fort Hood for the remainder of her service. After her separation from the Army she was a home health care provider, homemaker and most importantly a mother and grandmother.

Gwen leaves behind her son Jared Guild and his wife Cathy of Epsom, NH, along with her granddaughter Jenna; her

sister Virginia Marcello and her husband Larry of Riverside RI; her brother John Croasdale and his wife
Josephine of Cromwell, CT. As well as Jacalyn Cox, Ralphie, Ryan, Natalie and Waylon Chick all of Silver
Lake, NH who she loved as if they were her own grandchildren.  She was predeceased by her parents; her brother Thomas Croasdale and her former husband Russell Guild.A celebration of life will take place later this year.
