Herbert C. MacMartin

Herbert C. MacMartin 90, Native of Wolfeboro, NH, passed away peacefully on Friday December, 20, 2019 with his loving family by his side.

Herb was born at Huggins Hospital in Wolfeboro and grew up there along with his sister and five brothers. Herb married Susan (Coppins) MacMartin at St. Cecilia’s Church in Wolfeboro, NH. He graduated from Brewster Academy, Wolfeboro, NH and the University of New Hampshire, Durham, NH. Herb served our Country in the United States Army as a Staff Sargent in Korea for three years.

Herb’s working years were spent in the financial/ accounting profession. He was involved with many sports- particularly Hockey and Football. He was an avid fan of The Boston Red Sox, The New England Patriots, and The Boston Bruins. He very much enjoyed watching their games on TV regularly.  Herb, in his younger years, was also very active in the DeMolay International Program.

He was predeceased by his son John B., his parents Rev. John B. and Ruth Batchelder, his sister Patricia and his brothers Bud, Warren, Donald, Frank, and David.

He is survived by his loving wife Susan of 63 years, son Jeffrey and daughter in law Sandra of Tuftonboro, NH, Daughter Kimberley and Errol of Lowell, MA, plus 5 grandchildren he loved with all his heart, William, Steven and wife Katie, Jessica, Shaun, and Andrew.

Herb will be sadly missed by his whole family and many longtime friends.

At his request there will be no calling hours or funeral services.  Interment will be in the Hersey Cemetery, Wolfeboro, in the spring.
