Irving L. “Bud” Hadley
Freedom, NH – Bud passed away peacefully at age 85, surrounded by his family on Thursday, April 20th, 2023.
Bud grew up in Swampscott, MA predeceased by his sister Joan Hadley Stephenson and parents Jessie and Irving “Bump” Hadley, a Major League pitcher for 16 years who influenced and shaped his lifetime love of family, sports and story-telling.
Bud was a graduate of The Governor’s Academy and UNH and served honorably in the US Army. He worked his entire adult career in sales for SC Johnson Wax in the Boston area.
Bud is survived by his best friend and loving wife of 59 years, Patricia Hadley and their 5 Children; Greg, Geoff (Jennifer), Todd (Amy), Eric and Richie as well as 13 grandchildren, nephews, nieces, and beloved dog, Nellie. He and Patricia raised their family in Acton, MA and retired in Freedom, NH (Ossipee Lake), providing his family and many friends with wonderful memories along the way. Bud also loved golfing, cocktail hour with friends and making sure all his bird feeders were full. He was known for his infectious smile, warm conversations, and always ready to give a big hug. Bud was a huge Boston sports fan and loved coaching and watching his kids games/events. He instilled this same passion in all 5 of his sons through his final days.
Special thanks to his team of wonderful and caring doctors, nurses and home health aides that enabled him to live comfortably in his home this past year.
