Jay Brennan, originally of Evanston, IL, passed away comfortably on Wednesday August 16th at the age of 90 in his home in Ossipee, NH.
He was a pilot in the US Air Force, having joined immediately after high school during the Korean War, which ended before he finished his officer’s training.
Jay was also a commercial airline pilot who retired after flying for 30 years with US Air. Not liking to be idle, he then went on to a second career as a school bus driver during the school year and worked as a corner guard at Club Motor Sports in Tamworth, NH. Jay was also a Ham Radio Operator for over 40 years, K1SAX, now a Silent Key.
Jay is survived by his wife Gaye Brennan and his three daughters Diane Jareki of Effingham, Becki Brennan of Hudson, FL and Karen Brennan of Rochester. He also has four grandchildren and one great grandson. He is also survived by his younger brother, Gerard Brennan of Indiana and his younger sister Julianne Brennan Wagner, of Wisconsin.
Calling hours will be at Lord Funeral Home in Wolfeboro on August 25 from 6-8 pm and a Funeral Mass will be held 10:00am Saturday, August 26, 2023 at St. Joseph’s Church, Moultonville Road, Center Ossipee, NH.
