Janice Downs Dearborn

Janice (Downs) Dearborn, 83 of South Tamworth, passed away Wednesday, January 22, 2020 at Golden View Nursing Home, Meredith, NH.
She was born December 24, 1936 a native and life-long resident of Tamworth.  She was the daughter of the late Clifford F. and Winifred (Weeks) Downs.

Janice had been employed as a telephone operator at New England Telephone Company and worked as a secretary for Public Service Company in Center Ossipee, NH; Arthur Mason Inc., South Tamworth; Bennett Sales & Service; Roberts Equipment and Richard Murphy Construction of Moultonborough, NH.

She was a former member of the Tamworth School Board, Tamworth Planning Board and Tamworth Recreation Committee.  Janice was also a member of the Union Hall Association, the Fellowship Circle of South Tamworth and a long-time writer of the South Tamworth News in the Carroll County Independent.

She was the widow of the late Allan E. Dearborn and is survived by her sons Jeffrey Dearborn and his wife Linda, Waleska, GA; and Randall Dearborn and his partner Carl Lemiesz, Tamworth, NH. She was predeceased by her son Richard and her sister Judy. She also leaves behind a grandchild Caroline, a brother Clifford (Kip) Downs Jr., Meredith, NH and several nieces and nephews.

At her request there will be no calling hours.  The family is planning a celebration of life at the South Tamworth United Methodist Church on Sunday March 1st at 11am. All are invited.
