Janine M. Gillum, 53, of Center Tuftonboro, NH, passed away peacefully on February 28, 2021, after a courageous, prolonged battle with Polycystic Kidney Disease. Beloved daughter of Denis Gillum of Center Tuftonboro and the late Angela “Gert” Gillum. Loving sister of Michelle Gillum and her husband Philip Kilkelly of Mirror Lake. Proud and devoted aunt of Keegan Kilkelly, who was her world.
Born on June 16, 1967 in Clyde, New Zealand, Janine moved to Center Tuftonboro with her family in 1974. In 1986, she graduated from Kingswood Regional High School and continued her studies at the University of New Hampshire in Durham where she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Anthropology in 1991. The following year, Janine moved to San Diego, CA, a fun beach-side community she would call home for over 10 years.
Janine served the Town of Wolfeboro for 14 years as the Water and Sewer Superintendent, and 3 years at the Town Hall, where she enjoyed her work and made many friends for whom she cared dearly.
The family is planning a graveside memorial service in May at the Town House Cemetery in Center Tuftonboro, followed by a Celebration of Life. Family and friends will be notified with details. All who knew and loved Janine are welcome to join.
